Ms. Arliss knows how to sleep without regard to her prey status. Either she figures Clover will protect her, or she’s too deaf and blind to know what’s going on around her, or more likely, she just doesn’t give a shit anymore. (That’s her approach to litterbox use now, too, though I’ve been scolded for not Photoshopping out her poops!)
