MOLLY

Molly was 100% cute. She was a Tortoiseshell-and-White (like Frisky) but she had a silly little rosette on her forehead. Molly was the "quiet" pig I took to Smith for a year. She rode the train from Massachusetts to Indiana and back at Christmas in a box and never gave herself away! She was small for an adult g.p. due to some health problems as a baby and she lived about four years.Molly and Peanut snoozing

I "rescued" Molly from a pet shop which did not take good care of its pigs. She had had babies when she was just a baby herself, had a spinal injury, had a lot of bugs, and was just generally sick when I got her. I felt sorry for her and took her home to try to nurse her back to health. It took three days of V8 juice from an eyedropper before she would eat on her own, but soon Molly was healthy and goofy and loved to play. Molly loved Peanut but tried to bite Annie whenever they met, which I generally prevented from happening. She hated carrots but liked anything else and kissed any fingers which happened by her cage bars.

She became very sick last winter from some ovarian cysts and did not last long after surgery.  We've always tried to make good choices about how to get the pigs healthy again, but sometimes it just doesn't work out.  At least she was at home and comfortable, and hopefully the vets learned more about her condition with this experience.  Like all the other departed piggies, Molly got a permanent home in the backyard.
